Strategic partnership for the development of a common Smart City standard for all cities and municipalities in Sweden
Sensative and Civity will provide their Smart City platforms to RI.SE for the development of a common Smart City standard for all cities and municipalities in Sweden. RI.SE has recently completed the project “Survey of urban data platforms” under the strategic innovation program IoT Sweden. A project output is a set of recommendations and guidelines outlining how municipalities and their suppliers could work with a common framework to assure openness and interoperability.
Share data
“If the cities follow the same standards it will be possible to move services from one city using one provider’s platform to another city using another provider’s platform. Sensative and Civity in combination provides such a platform, and we intend use it in future internal and external smart city activities,“ says Claus Popp Larsen, Head of Connected cities at RISE, adding, “the platform could in principle have been from any other provider that follows the recommendations, but we have chosen this strategic partnership with Sensative and Civity since they share our visions of openness and interoperability and because their platform timely meets our needs and challenges”.
A common standard for Smart City
The recommendations as well as the solutions from Sensative and Civity are based upon standardized components from the European FIWARE framework which is gaining traction in cities in several European countries.
YGGIO
The Sensative open IoT platform Yggio is the leading horizontal Smart City platform in Sweden, used in Stockholm, Malmö, Sundbyberg, Lund, and others. Sensative’s platform provides seamless integration of live data streams from many IoT technologies and standards into a common IoT network with a simple interface for common end-user services.
“Partnering with the right organization is essential to innovation. By joining efforts with RI.SE and Civity we will be able to solve many of the challenges that our cities and municipalities face when they develop their Smart City solutions. It’s a great beginning to a new partnership.” Mats Pettersson, CEO of Sensative
City Innovation Platform
Civity’s City Innovation Platform is the leading horizontal Smart City platform in the Netherlands, used in more than 30 cities e.g. The Hague, Utrecht, Groningen, and more. The platform provides data logistics solutions (collection, storage and provisioning) as well as data science that stimulate Smart City development.
“There is an enormous growth in data. Making that data available for reuse in new innovative applications requires an open, scalable and proven platform. Concerns regarding security, privacy and ethics need to be addressed. We need to develop this in collaboration and exchange our knowledge,” Arjen Hof, founder of Civity.
